The Chinese Year of the Dragon

The Chinese Year of the Dragon is believed to bring success and happiness and the path of the Dragon is ' Be good to your body, accept new love, and you will find wealth through routine." I am born in the year of dragon; 1988 and I decided to share the Dragon path and ensure that success and happiness is happening among my friends even when they were not born in the year of Dragon.

For this year's Chinese New Year (CNY), my friends and I had a BBQ 'Makan Besar' by the pool. We gathered at my place to plan on the menus and activities we want to do on that day and then we all went shopping together for the ingredients.

Pancakes with Ice-cream & Banana, Lamb Ribs with Rosemary, Garlic & Honey Balsamic Glaze, Baked Potato with Sour Cream, Ceasar Salad with Croutons, Macaroni Cheese and Mix Fruit Punch.

We had so much fun cooking and grilling and we really worked as a team; that excites me the most!

It was a successful night and we all had a very wonderful time as we laughed and talked all night, took a lot of pictures, we were surrounded by awesome people and good food and lastly, we all swam together in the pool (well, some of us were pushed into the pool, hehe). I guess the Dragon Year is indeed true about bringing success and happiness to everyone and this is something that I will always cherish.

New Year! New Look!

New year means New look for us! When the New Year comes, that's the chance to create a whole new you. This year, for this 2012, I was thinking to make a little make over to be more fabulous. I would like to change the way I make up, the way I do my hair, the way I dress and lastly, my diet plan . But I don't want to do something that would cost me a lot and something that is too drastic! So, I want to make some changes that I'm comfortable with. So far, this is what I've done..

MAKE UP

I've always worn a very very simple make up; light shade of blusher, lipstick and eyeliner. But for this year, I want to start putting on some eye shadow, if possible, I would like to learn to put on any colour of eye shadow and especially to learn how to do the smokey eyes effect.

HAIR STYLE

I got bored of our normal long black hair, so I decided to add some color to my hair. Here's the result.

From black hair color to chiffon beige.

I did the experiment with my friend; Izah. We bought Liese Bubble Hair Color and we used the same colour which is chiffon beige. We are very satisfied with the outcome! Liese Bubble Hair Color makes coloring hair fun and easy! Its a new type of permanent hair colour that uses foam. The foam reaches all over my head so I can achieve beautiful, evenly colored hair easily. No more troublesome sectioning the hair, just dispense the foam, apply on hair and massage.

DRESS UP: PALAZZO PANTS

Palazzo Pants is the new "it" thing so I've been eyeing on these fabulous pants for weeks already. It is one of the most elegant and classic trousers styles for every function. For those who doesn't know what is a Palazzo pant, it is actually a wide, elegant, swooshy trouser, very comfortable and the light fabrics making them as one of the popular trends for this season. Another fabulous thing about this pant is that it is perfect for any shapes; skinny girls or curvy ones. They work with all the trends, including color blocking, stripes patterns, fluorescent, animalier or floral patterns, as they definitely will look adorable and stylish.

Plazzo Pants

These Palazzo pants are so fabulous, you will marvel at how easily they pair with dressy tops and heels. It's also easy to mix and match with what you have in your wardrobe.

To be looking fabulous, match the Palazzos with layering pieces such as cropped jacket, basic fashionable tees and the irreplaceable boots for stylish option, or pair the neutral shaded Palazzos with coat or blazer, chic blouses, and high heel shoes. Additional accessories such as belts or scarves would make it more elegant.

I've never bought or worn Palazzos, so for 2012, I'm thinking of having different type of Pallazos; plain or with patterns, dark or fluorescent colour and chiffon or cotton fabric so it could be worn to different type of places or events.

DIET PLAN
“an apple a day keeps the doctor away”

I've started to practice eating an apple before each meal three times a day. It has only been a week so no results yet. I've never really been a fan of fruits but since this is a brand new year, changing my diet plan would be a wise thing to do.

Eating apples to replace the snacks with something healthier which can also make a huge difference to my weight; it's just brilliant! Don't you think? Apples fill my stomach faster as they contain pectin which is known to make people feel full and also retain that feeling for a longer time. Another great thing about apples is that they are very low in calories. Munching is my favourite thing to do while watching tv or while browsing the internet so munching on apples can definitely satisfy my hunger pangs without putting too many calories in my body.

Apple is very beneficial for detoxifying the body. It is a good source of vitamins, minerals and fiber. It has high water content and low fat.It is tasty and can replace my regular fattening snacks. So, to those who would like to look fabulous, I suggest start today! It can promote much faster and healthier weight loss. After a month, we'll be looking fabulous together! Good Luck!
